Work executed and presented to the National Salon of Artists of the Army officials at the Hotel des Invalides in Paris in 2001, to mark the Bicentenary of the Founding of the Ecole Militaire de Saint Cyr, Napoleon first. Representation of St. Cyr present in full uniform and carrying the "cassowary". It is in this outfit that stands guard at the School of Saint Cyr.  Gouache on Canson colored, 1959, dimensions 24 × 32 cm This work is part of the collection 'Portraits and Scenes from Algeria' executed between 1958 and 1962, during which Josette Spiaggia, a young teacher after Normal, is acting in the outposts of Algerian Bled, in the highlands.
